Important Information About Short Term Health Insurance
No person should seek a short-term health insurance plan unless they are certain that they will soon be receiving comprehensive health insurance coverage. Short-term health insurance is not intended to take the place of standard health insurance plans as it only provides coverage for a 1-6 month period of time.
In the case of accidental injury or unexpected illness, short-term health insurance plans will provide coverage. In almost all other situations, short-term health insurance will not provide coverage. What that means is that any other type of medical care including preventive care and immunizations, dental or eye care and routine health care, will not be covered by short-term health insurance. Short-term health insurance should be used for as short a time as possible to prevent the possibility of being denied permanent health insurance coverage if your health condition changes.
