Did you know?
The 1st Sunday of June is National Cancer Survivors Day. This day honors people who have a history of cancer, their family, friends, and caregivers, and persons who do cancer research and provide treatment and support services.

Steps to take
Start to think of cancer as a chronic illness, not a death sentence. Support cancer research. Learn more from the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation, Inc. at ncsdf.org. and from cancer.gov.

Health Tip!

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

For decades, a cancer diagnosis usually meant death. This is no longer the case. Now 50% of all Americans diagnosed with cancer will survive. The survival rates of people under the age of 55 are even greater. The chances of recovery from some types of cancer are as high as 80-90%. Early detection and treatment is your best defense for survival.
