Playground Pump Up – 6 Exercises

If you want the kids to play, then you may want to set an example …
You might as well get a quick pump, especially since you have to be there while they burn off some energy.

Here are 6 exercises and what body parts they effect:

1) Monkey bar pull ups – Works the biceps and upper back
2) Elevated feet push ups – Works the triceps, chest and front shoulder
3) Swing squats – Works front of thigh
4) Single leg squats – Works thigh, hamstring and butt muscles
5) Go nowhere swing presses – Works shoulders, triceps and top of chest
6) Frustrated kid, fake launch, swing pull – Works upper back and biceps

Sleep, Restoration and Athletic Performance

Recent research has affirmed what top athletes have known for years – adequate sleep is necessary to achieve top athletic performance. While much is made of the role of diet and supplementation in athletic recovery and restoration, sleep is another key factor that professional and amateur athletes consider when designing their training programs. When I was coaching my Olympic athletes, I was always cognizant of the levels of volume and intensity of the different phases of training and I was sure to give the athletes enough time for adequate rest as part of their restoration program – it works!

As the moments tick by, we tend to get swept up in our consistent, daily activities and before we know it, tomorrow is here.
