All through November and December
we made a great push to raise as much money as possible for the “Bear Hug Foundation,” an organization that sends underprivileged, at-risk, and developmentally challenged children to a summer camp in northern Michigan. It provides them with an unforgettable experience to learn, grow, and to just have fun being kids (without the stress of their regular lives).
We are proud to announce that in one month we raised just under $21,000 in total donations. This, combined with Bear Hug’s other earnings, will send more than 120 kids to camp. A great way to enrich our community is by helping local organizations that empower our youth, and Bear Hug does exactly that.
We’re so thankful for the support of our friends, families, fellow Tribe members, and family companies for all of their support. At a time of year where rampant consumption is encouraged in droves it’s easy to lose sight of what’s most important. We’re proud to have turned what would have been a regular holiday party into a month-long event of charity. That’s not to say that we didn’t have a fun and crazy party the night of the event *(more on that below).
Here is a list of most of the organizations and people that generously donated their funds and services to our party:
-Marilyn’s American Tavern (419 Monroe St, Detroit)
-F.A.C.E.S.
-Fidelity
-ING
-Boru
-AIG American General Insurance
-Vintage Audio
-Eastwood Photography
-Dominos
-Fathead
-Patron
-Washington National
