Individual Health Insurance VS. Group Health Insurance from My Insurance Expert on Vimeo.

Ok so let’s contrast individual vs. group health insurance. One thing that a lot of people get wrong is individual health insurance, number one isn’t as good coverage and number two, cost more than a group coverage. Well, these two things are wrong. The first one, let’s talk about cost. We find that individual health insurance is about 40% less than any group plan. You can load it up with all the features and benefits you are looking for in a group plan. Sometimes, I think the only thing I am going to put on the side, is really whether it covers maternity or not. So that’s one thing you want to make sure your talking to your advisor or agent about. Otherwise the individual plans, I think are really structured so that you’re making the right decisions. Yes, they may be a higher deductible, but it’s your choice where you want to spend your money. We always advocate, take a higher deductible, so that your first dollar coverage is actually covered by an accident benefit. That’s always something to add and think about. The other pieces, you want to make sure your group plan that you’re looking, let’s say you’re coming off of. Look at your features and benefits. Where more than happy to look at, and put a competitive plan together with anyone of our 26 carriers that we have across the country. So take a look and make sure your comparing apples to apples.
