President Obama and Preventive Health Care

As we all well know, President Obama has been focused largely on reforming our nation’s health care system. One of the biggest adjustments he is trying to create is a greater abundance and utilization of preventive health services.
So why is encouraging preventive health care such a keystone element of President Obama’s health care reform? The bottom line is that if Americans took advantage of their preventive health services; namely, their annual exams (including blood work and immunizations) millions of serious and life threatening illnesses could be prevented early on. Not only is it easier to prevent and conquer an illness early on in its stages of development, but if caught too late the procedures and treatment can often be useless and quite costly.
Understanding that a major concern with America’s health care system is a matter of financing, taking advantage of preventive care services is a great way to not only prevent serious illness and death, but also will save millions of dollars down the road. In fact, this trend is becoming more and more prevalent in today’s insurance policies. Insurance companies over the years have been encouraging individuals to take care of their preventive care services by covering them at 100% of the cost. Why? Because they understand that if they are able to catch a disease early, they won’t be covering as much monetarily in claims down the road.
When all is said and done, don’t jeopardize your health, your family, and your wallet by not taking care of your preventive care services. Be proactive and help both yourself and your fellow American’s by catching diseases early, and minimizing the cost of health care services.
